About NTLHS

Get Involved in Living History!

A Little Bit About Us:

The Northwest Territory Living History Society is based out of Michigan, but welcomes members from anywhere in the surrounding areas. While our primary portrayal is The 42nd RHR Grahams’ Company (Black Watch) that served during the French & Indian War, historically, we have also presented other representations from that era, including a civilians, a Native American contingent, artillery, and craftsmen. Though our schedule varies year-to-year as members vote on which events we attend, we primarily participate in reenactments located in Michigan, occasionally traveling to Indiana, Illinois, New York, and Ohio as well.

NTLHS is a family-friendly organization, welcoming members of all ages and abilities.

100%

Chance of Campfires

What fun is camping without campfires? Frosty mornings and chilly evenings call for a crackling fire, and meals just taste better when cooked outside.

88%

Success in Habit Formation

Warning! Most folks who try living history love it, and before too long, all one can think about is the next event and where to store all the new gear.

Improved Knowledge

It’s highly probably that practicing living history will result in the learning of new skills and the acquiring of additional knowledge of history along the way.

New Member Support

It’s true, Living History is not an inexpensive hobby. While reenactors do need a lot of gear to participate properly, there is help available! NTLHS has tents and clothing to loan, and many members are willing to share and loan supplies while new members are building their kit. Still not sure if living history is for you? Consider gearing up to be in camp with us for a few hours at one of our upcoming events for a first hand experience of what this hobby is all about.
